How to slide a long rubber handgrip onto a multi bend metal powdercoated handlebar…?

I have a "Joe Weider" home gym that i’m putting together; the instructions say simply "slide the rubber grip onto the bar" year right… the bar has 2 90 degree bends, the rubber grip makes it past the first bend and doesn’t go any further. I tried to put some soapy water on the bar… still didn’t slide on…

First make sure that you are sliding it the grip on from the right direction. Then apply a little bit of WD-40 inside the grip, and on the bar at the point where it won’t go any further and simply slide the rubber grip onto the bar.

Don’t use any oil!! Unless you want the grip to permanently be sliding around. Dish soap does the trick and your grips will lock in place when the soap dries out.

using rubbing alchohol spray into the handle then it should slide onto the bar when the alchohol evaporates it should stay in place.
