Wells its been about a month since the last workout video and here today we had a couple PRs. Oh yes and we finally found a new crossfit gym that is conveniently 10-15min away going on highway 4. Reasonable open gym price with the best equipment and space so far. Everything there is geared towards functional strength so thats definitely a plus. Couldn’t quite go deep into the clean because my legs were pathetically weak from not squatting enough during the school week. So I decided to power it up all the way and still managed a PR on the C&J. Shoulder muscles and joints get terribly weak from all the cardio and running during my aerobics classes. As I sink into the snatch I can feel my arms buckle slightly and feel as if they were gonna snap. That never occurred when I was focusing primarily on olympic weightlifting training. I learned just about a few weeks ago in my KIN courses of the detrimental effects cardio/running/stretching can have on heavy strength training and my experiences with the two disciplines mold beautifully with the newly learned concept. I’m probably gonna reread it somewhere in that fat giant NSCA textbook I recently just bought to study. With only about 9000 members of NSCA in the US, I hardly know anyone else who has had the test experience with it or know any personal trainers personally for that matter but at least from what I hear, they say it is ridiculously difficult. But hey, I plan to read the textbook at least twice. I guess personal training is a starting point before I get into the olympic lifting business.
