This is a thorough routine for the abdominal muscles. The routine consists of exercises that isolate the three main areas of the core: the lower abs, the obliques, and the upper abs. Remember that it takes more than a solid ab workout to get a flat, toned midsection, however. Great abs happen as a result of consistent training that balances cardio, strength training, as well as a clean diet. For this workout, do each exercise for about 20-25 reps so that you do a total of about 200-300 reps for the abs (this is what I demonstrate in the video). The workout should be done 3-4 times per week. would i be better off getting a treadmill, or an eliptical or something else?
1st, it depends which machine you will like to use the most.
That said, a rowing machine provides the most capability to burn calories and get in shape at the same time. No other machine can help you burn 1000 calories an hour working the legs, glutes, abs, back, and arms as strongly.

If you are having fun on a machine, its not very likely to be burning many calories. Check out your heart rate on a few at a sporting good store.
Rowing, I can push my heart rate to 170 and above, and I’m 55 years old.

I am not familiar with being fit or getting fit. I just want to buy one piece of equipment that will provide a good aerobic workout and possibly one piece that I can use for strengthening. Oh yes – trying to lose weight!
Well done for making the decision to improve your health a bit.
If I can be absolutely honest if you want to improve your fitness
There are 2 essential items
1. Proper FITTED running shoes, slow jogging combined with walking burns fat better than ANY other exercise. Forget pointless home health equipment, it’s just rubbish
2. A notebook to record both your progress and your diet (eat better and exercise more weight falls off, it’s that simple)
Start slowly and set yourself a series of realistic short term goals (eg run for 2 mins or run 1 mile or whatever) try to improve just a little each time but accept that sometimes you have a bad day.
Record ONE long term goal (run 10K perhaps)
Exercise is daunting at first but as soon as you experience the endorphines and begin to see improvements in your notebook and within yourself I’m sure you’ll love the confidence it gives you

just to get fit and tone up
i would say cross trainer or a rowing machiene. I found that the rowing machiene got quite boring and it was an effort for me to do it but i haven’t got bored of the cross trainer yet and it tones your legs and increases your fitness and doesn’t mess with your joints like a treadmill.

General purchases like lunch, office supplies, etc…. What can be written off given my line of work?
If you work in a set location, like a store/storefront, do little customer entertaining and don’t already itemize your taxes, not much.
Driving to and from work, and eating your own lunch, are not expensible on your taxes. Driving to a customers, taking a customer out to lunch, and buying office supplies may be.
But in order to claim the expenses you have to have enough expenses to "beat" the standard deduction given to everyone.
Save your receipts and see a tax professional in the spring.

Preferably with no equipment.
I know I can do a google search but I was wondering if there are any particularly good websites for fitness etc.
Nothing I have to pay for please.
Hi Hattie! there are several websites that can help you with that, but if you want to do fitness at home especially with out equipment, that’s good because it can help you save some extra cash, compared to buying those drastic fitness equipments, do it in some other effective ways instead.
Here are my cardio workout which i always do at home:
* Jumping Jacks
* Plank
* Mountain Climbers
* Side Hops (hop side to side over a dumbbell – you can use anything to jump over)
* Sprint in Place (I hold my hands out and make sure me knees touch them each time)
* Body Weight Squats
* Burpee
* Stationary Reverse Lunge

Dont Dumb it down i’ve done electrical work for two years. I know the ohms law and power triangle equations.Was wondering if someone could give me an equation to be able to find the amount of torque generated by those machines to figure out how large a capacitor you could feesably have. Also interested in solar energy power/ square ft-but thats unrelated.
As a human being, you can probably output around 150 Watts. How many watt-hours do you need to run your house? See attached link where a guy generates his own electricity for his house.
