bodybuilding exercise: home triceps workout

Monday, June 28th, 2010

Video clip showing proper form for the french press exercise for triceps. This is a great exercise you can do at home with just an inexpensive barbell set. If you want big arms, remember that the triceps is actually a bigger muscle than the biceps so dont neglect it!

As with any dumbbell exercise, form is key if you want to maximize your muscle building efforts and minimize the chance of injury. Don’t use too much weight, if you can’t do the exercise slowly then you need to go lighter. Count aloud “one onethousand, two onethousand, three onethousand” on the way up and the way down, if you cant do this on this exercise then you are using too much weight. The reason this exercise method maximizes your muscle growth is because it confines the motion to the muscle you are trying to work out, if your body squirms, swings, and kicks, all you are doing is taking the focus away from the muscle you are trying to exercise.

Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn’t have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. A cheap dumbbell set from a garage sale or walmart is all it takes to get started with your home workouts.

Try an overall body home workout such as http://www.1hourmuscles.com which should help you build your body without having to buy any equipment.

What is the name of the infomercial for an home machine (gyme exercise) that said it was better than Bowflex?

Friday, June 25th, 2010

In the infomercial was ex NBA player Kenny Anderson and several sports figures. This infomercial also had a soccer, triatholon, swimming, baseall player in it. This machine was comparing its self to Bowflex. It said it had better range of motion than Bowflex. I remember Kenny Anderson’s name because they had him trying out the Bowflex against their machine. They was showing how quicker it was to set up and use their machine over the Bowflex. I remember it coming on one morning in either November or December of last year (2007). I want to buy the machine, wrote down the name of it, but when I moved forgot where I put it. The machine is similar to Bowflex. It uses cables also. Brand new machine never heard of it. And its not Crossbow.

I need to exercise, I have equipment here at home. But don’t use. How do I get motivated?

Friday, June 25th, 2010

I have a treadmill, exercise bike, abdominal exerciser and a hip and thigh buster. I have used them, but not lately. I have become lazy. How do I get motivated? I cannot afford to go to a gym. I have noticed I am not as toned as I used to be. Any advice on how to motivated for exercise would help. Thanks!

If you’re finding you’re a couch potato, set your workout equipment up within view of the tv and pick a particular time ex. between 7-8 o’clock and exercise at that time every night or every second night whatever you decide your schedule should be. Keep in mind you won’t see the results you’re looking for with less than five days a week of working out.

Is there a decent,at home, exercise that can get rid of belly fat in 3 months?

Friday, June 25th, 2010

I’m not looking for a six pack or anything.I just want want to get rid of at-least 60% of this stomach that I still seem to have after previous weight loss.My goal was to get rid of it(or just enough) in 3 months. So I’m looking for something I can do every day (or every other day) to help me tighten up a little.

It’s true, there is no such thing as spot reduction.

Without meeting you or knowing anything about you, here’s one possible routine.

1) NUTRITION: Eat lean meats and veggies, nuts and seeds, some fruit, some starch and no sugar. Don’t drink anything besides water. Google daily caloric needs and use one of the calculators to figure out how much you should be eating. Divide that into six small meals per day and make those meals according to the above guidelines. note: a "meal" is any time that you eat, even if it is a small amount of food. I like to put 2/3 of my calories into breakfast, lunch and dinner and 1/3 into "snacks" between meals.

SLEEP: Get 6 – 8 hours of sleep per night if you can. 8 is much better than 6. Also, don’t sleep more than 9 hours as it messes with your metabolism. Besides, you have work to do.

MON, WED, FRI – Strength training. I’m assuming you don’t have weights at home so do 50 each of the following:

1) Push ups 2) crunches 3) Lunges 4) Leg Lifts 5) Squat Thrusts (burpies)

Go straight through with each one, don’t stop to rest more than you absolutely have to. you can rest two minutes between each exercise but no more. Note: This will be hard to do. you will sweat and you will be sore, especially for the first week.

TUE, THURS, SAT: Cardio

If you have a bike, jump on the sucker and ride for 1.5 to 2 hours. Plot out a 15 to 20 mile course around your house and just ride it. Try to get a couple of hills in there. The great thing about bike riding is that most people can do it for a long time, and that burns a LOT of calories.

If you don’t have a bike, you’re going to run. Plot out a three mile course and hit the pavement. If you have to start out run / walking then do that, but try to work up to jogging the whole thing, and eventually to interval sprints.

This program will absolutely melt weight off you. No gym membership required, and no supplements or gimmicks. You’ll feel great, full and have a ton of energy.

Sunday you have off for recovery, so enjoy it!

Is it normal to get headaches after a gym workout?

Friday, June 25th, 2010

I seem to be getting bad headaches about 1 hour after my boxing workout. Not sure why?

I drink about 1 litre of water during the day and plenty of water before/after my workout..so i dont understand why, since workouts are meant to make you feel better!!!

It could be a lactic acid headache, when you exercise your muscles produce lactic acid, if your body isn’t used to this kind of exercise it will secrete lactic acid more and it builds up in your system, it can cause vomiting, fatigue, headaches and sometimes dizziness. You can try some panadol rapid after your workout if you can take it and see if it helps. If it is a lactic acid headache it will pass once your system adjusts.
