My wife and I just bought a bowflex and it is AWESOME. I have used everything on the market and I have not recieved the same results as I do with the boflex. It uses the resistance theory which is by far more superior than anything out there.
I have been working out most of my adult life and have always been strong and healthy but after I busted my lower leg and shattered the ankle as well I gained about 20 pounds. I tried to go back to the gym but I was un able to left the weights because I could not put the additional weight on the leg.
We were spending about 700.00 a year on the gym. We cancelled are membership and bought a bowflex for 850.00 after a year the boflex will have paid for it’s self.
Just like the add says on tv 20 minutes a day 3 days a week and a good diet and you will see results. I wade 215 when I started with the bowflex I have been using it for 2 weeks. I have last almost ten pounds and one pant size.
Results do very but the bowflex in my opinion is the best. And because the machine uses resistance you build nice tone muscle mass. Also because of the resistance factor you will not be able to lift anywhere near what you normally can with free weights.
Please do not take my word for it. do some research.

ok well to start off, I’m an 18 yr old male, 6′0" college student.
4 weeks ago I weighed 218 and I’ve started going to the gym for an hour a day on campus and last Wednesday I dropped down to 203lbs!
Well today i weighed myself and im still at 203, so why did i stop losing? and what can i do to be more efficient at the gym, like which machines help the most for weight loss/body tuning? (currently doing 30 min of bike and 30 min of weights).
The reason you have probably stayed at 203 is because when you lose weight your body fluctuates, and kind of creates a yo-yo effect. At the gym you should run a little faster. Also, I recommend losing weight by doing cardio first because it may be harder to burn fat through all that muscle, so once you’ve lost your goal amount of weight you should begin weight training.

I know they only work if you actually do the routine. But, are they just as good as going to the Yoga centre?
I’d say you can do a lot of yoga on your own, but to be really safe and learn to know your own body takes supervision by a good instructor.

I’m planning to buy machine for exercise in my home. I already have exercise bike. I was thinking about manual treadmill or jogger. So any help or experience.
If you can afford I would recommend Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill. Its a bit pricey but its a great machine. It’s very sturdy and has a lot of features for a home treadmill.
or if you want to save money Bowflex Series 3 Treadmill is a good choice.

With the best intentions in the world, I have purchased 2 treadmills, and another piece of large exercise equipment and each has become a clothes rack,
a place for our cats to play, storage units, and, a drying rack. But maybe the next piece I buy will actually be something I use.

I want to lose 10 vanity pounds. I am certainly not opposed to exercise, but I have little time to do so. I work three jobs (my student loans will be paid off in six more months, after only two years… I didn’t want to spend 10 years paying them), and I have very little daylight to work out in. Can anyone recommend any good workout videos to do at home, or any exercises at home that can get me into better shape? Thanks!
well i heard that jump rope (15mins) is equal to a 30min walk
so to save time
while watching your fave show or the news at night
jump rope for the whole show.
brakes during commercials.
so if u do it for 30mins
youve walked for an hour!
its a great way to save time.
my friend and i were on diets living together and like had stuff like
before we walked up stairs we would do 20 step-ups.
youd be surprised how many u do during the day
squats while drying the dishes
like that raising one leg in the air when ur lying down thing during the news.
50 situps before bed and when we wake up!
IT WORKED WONDERS!
good luck!

I need to find a city in Illinois that is at least 50 miles away from a Curves workout gym.
I don’t think there is. My suggestion is to get a map of Illinois and put a pin or dot on every city that has one to give yourself a visual of their distribution.
You can get a complete list at curves.com. There are a lot.

I’m not fat, but I’ve noticed I’m getting a slight pot belly. I want to nip it in the bud! I’ve joined a gym. Can you recommend which particular machines at the gym I should use? And how long should I do it for each time. What would be good for reducing my belly? Like I said, it’s nothing major, but I want to get rid!
You don’t need a machine. Just hook you feet under a bar sat on the floor and do sit-ups with you hands on the back of your neck. Works well.

I have man boobs!! but im going to do somthing about it, i have signed up to a gym but i dont know what equipment to use to burn it and how to use it, any tips? thanks.
If you talk to fitness experts or people who read enough about fitness, you will hear the same thing over and over. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SPOT TRAINING!!! Excess body fat comes from consuming more calories than your body uses to fuel your activities. Where your body stores fat depends mostly upon your genetics. I store fat in my stomach and chest. For some people it’s their legs or butt. You can’t change where your body stores fat. Training one part of your body won’t reduce that one spot on your body. Doing aerobic exercise for 30 minutes to 60 minutes, five to six days a week at 75% to 85% of your maximum heart rate is the best exercise for weight loss. You must also reduce your calorie intake. Learn how many calories are in the food you eat. As you eat during the day, write down how many calories you eat and make sure you don’t go over the amount that you require for weight loss. Use a calorie calculator to figure out your daily needs and cut down your calorie intake by at least 500 calories a day. Examples of aerobic exercise include, walking as fast as you possibly can, running, cycling, exercise bike, swimming eliptical machine, rowing machine, stair climbing, stair master. Weight training is helpful, but for fat reduction, stay on the cardio side of your gym, for at least 80% of the time you are in the gym.
